Ulyssa isn't homophobic and u webtoon commenters are getting it all wrong: more HCH theories

Date of creation: 25 april 2024

The last time i've put effort into theorizing something about these dumb gay royals it ended up being all real (and i am INDEED talking about the Lucas Theory PDF)
I was mad serious about that PDF i even sent it to my friends to show them... and i think i had already got a few of them into HCH... anyway

Since the start of S2 (when i got back into Tumblr and found a bunch of fun HCH mutuals to discuss stuff with) i've been dropping theories about what could've happened, mainly it was things about the Queen. Girl you are a MISTERY.

According to my blog post when we got this image of S2 with the launch date, "in the end [saph running away with odette and my theory of a death-faking scenario]'s going to be the same thing August's mom did with his husband aka the king aka August's dad, since we saw her alive in the last panel of the season 1 finale."
Fuzzy kindly reminded me (and then i went and re-read the chapters) that yeah, the king KNOWS the queen ran away, while i remembered it was actually like, she ran away and he didn't know or something. But yes, according to what he told Saph during a talk they had [S1, EP. 75], she was "deeply unhappy" with their marriage and ran away from the palace, while the king did not stop her although he was truly in love.
NOW. quick skip to the latest chapters.

August, after hearing from Saph thru a letter, wants to try and legalize same-sex relationships in the kingdom, and now more than ever he has power, since the King is asleep (they consider him on the verge of death because nobody knows about Luna's spell) and he is the only heir, even approved by the council. He talked with Duke Festion and Lady Ulyssa, recieving from both a negative answer. They did not get mad, but Festion suggested him to wait a few years at least, while Ulyssa... we still don't know (since today's chapter ended like that) but she denied aswell. That's a shame, and pretty unusual if you think about it, coming especially from Ulyssa which supports progressive causes (and nodded to EVERYTHING August said before mentioning same-sex relationships). Hence why the title calls out to all those webtoon commenters that say "awww it's a shame she's homophobic she's so pretty". Dude. That looks like an homophobic woman to you? Hell no.

But anyway, Ulyssa was not what i wanted to talk about here (although she is my fav, Ulyssa marry me i am your number 1 fan). I had already took in account that Ulyssa was going to agree, when i read the last chapter, and built up the following theory:

If Ulyssa and Festion were chosen by the king, while the other three members of the council (Michel, Victor and Carina) were chosen by the people, this could reflect their political choices: Festion and Ulyssa both seem pro-law to me (Festion just suggested August to wait, but he did not DENY the idea, and Ulyssa supports progressive causes + her too, she seemed sad to say she couldn't help August with such a cause), while Carina, Victor and Michel look very firmly attached to their agendas (as stated from August aswell) and most likely they're bigots, although i hope Michel isn't. What could this potentally mean? That the King might be pro-law (with pro-law i don't mean "pro to this exact law August talks about" but generally pro gays or any other progressive cause), since he chose such representatives, while Phytian people are less open to such things. Hence why, the Queen ran away after talking about it with the King, and they had to fake her death because they couldn't let the rumor of her being a lesbian spread around.

Point is, a few REASONABLE webtoon comments gave me another idea: and if it wasn't really a choice the Queen made on her own? how about the King does not like the idea of her being a lesbian AT ALL and it was just a cover? or, even worse, what if he was okay with it, but the Phytians were not, and he had to satisfy their wants by banning her from the kingdom?

And here's the renewed theory, so unstable that it could change in a few days: last time we saw the Queen, it was at the end of S1 and she was in the woods, right? That could be that she is now living in Odette's old village (or whatever village Iza lives in), and, as we can see from the thumbnails of the next chapters, Iza seems mad. This could mean that Iza, seeing Odette (they might be related) dating Sapphia, is double mad: mad because she's dating royalty, and mad because said royalty married the prince of the kingdom that banned the Queen for being a lesbian. Pretty good point, i suppose.

The title being related to Ulyssa was pretty much unnecessary but i really wanted to address how these comments always jump to conclusions in the fastest way ever without even considering oppurtunities. How about, instead of saying Ulyssa and Festion are homophobic, we consider the fact there might be something stopping them? Like the fact the people are strongly against it? Festion looks pretty gay to me (and i'm calling it on him and Xander), while, again, Ulyssa supports too many progressive causes to be homophobic. They're just trying to protect August as the heir and generally, his reputation. Perhaps the Queen's reputation, even, but we'll see.

I think this was enough rambling about them, i'll make another post once i gain enough information to confirm whether this was real or not. Or perhaps just add clues to this puzzle.
Quick points (in case i need to copy and paste this into some other entries):
-Ulyssa and Festion are pro-law but there is something stopping them;
-The Queen could be living in Iza's village (and so, Odette's village if they really are related);
-It could be both that the Queen ran away on her own or she was banned from the castle, both because the King was against her or because it was the citizens that wanted her gone/didn't accept her, and the King had to do something about this.

Either ways, the next chapter is August (and i suppose Ulyssa again since they didn't finish their talk) and then, we go back to Sapphia and Odette's pov, so we might learn more about Iza, the Queen and the village very soon :D

If you actually read through this whole thing you're either an HCH fan or you have waaaay too much time to waste. Thx either ways, cya 2 the next entry B)

Update (28 april 2024)

Exactly as i expected, she is not homophobic you guys

Ulyssa they could NEVER make me hate you.
Also, although that's kind of contraddictory (?, does that term exist), she has a great point. She wants to make sure it is not going to profit guys only, but also women.

This is also proved by the fact she wants Saph's opinion on this:

IF ONLY SHE WASN'T TIED TO A FUCKING TREE
